LUXURY TEXTILE FROM INDIA, TO THE WORLD
Europe's affair with luxury Indian textile wouldn't start with us. From the Roman Empire to Dutch, British and French empires in the early 18th century, Europe has launched many a ship in pursuit of India's silks, muslins, cashmere to adorn their royals and nobility.
We want to rekindle this love affair but this time, do it right. Do it with respect to the provenance, respect to the makers, and include within its patrons, those who weren't born with the reverence and knowledge for these art forms.
Our textile offering is confined to some lighthouse crafts of India that were originally conceived and nurtured for Indian royals. Our pillars for these are
1/ Exceptional materials - scarce, high gradient and with unique properties
2/Time-Honoured handcraft - ultra-fine, highly technical crafts preserved and honed over centuries and generations of the artisans families and we work with master artisans with decades of experience. Even with this expertise, creating each item is a time and labour-hungry process.
3/ Cultural and Historical provenance - These crafts are culturally rooted in their communities, earning them Geographical Indication (GI) status just as a how the fine art of creating Champagne or Scotch Whiskey is tied to local traditions and factors.
